This data, showing the positions of individual trees, groups of trees, areas of trees and woodlands which are protected by Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) made by Derbyshire Dales District Council, is indicative only. Since posting this data new TPOs may have been made and in some cases the precise positions of the trees may be incorrect. Should you wish to carry out work to a tree, Derbyshire Dales District Councils Arboricultural Officer (01629 761244) should be contacted first to confirm whether or not the tree is protected.
Please be aware that Derbyshire County Council and the Peak District National Park Authority also have some Tree Preservation Orders within the Derbyshire Dales area but these are not included here.
The Law requires that written consent must be given by the Local Planning Authority before any work to a protected tree is undertaken. In addition to TPO controls, trees which are within a Conservation Area have similar protection and a notice of intended work needs to be submitted to the Local Planning Authority before undertaking work to them.
