Dataset description

Cardigan Bay lies between mid Wales and the N Pembrokeshire coast. The sublittoral habitats are patchy, ranging from boulder fields and small areas of bedrock ridges to large expanses of silty gravel. The whole area was silty and suffers a considerable amount of scour due to the strong tides in Cardigan Bay. The survey included RoxAnn recording between Cardigan Island and Dinas Head, with 19 ground truthing video records. 35 stations were grab sampled between Llanrhystud and Dinas Head, of which 18 were taken for infaunal analysis. The remainder were found to be gravels and cobbles that were poorly sampled, but species information is available for most of these from which the seabed can be characterised. SFC completed stations 1, 5, 7, 10, 13, 18, 19, 26, 27 and 29 to 32. Ocena Sciences, Menai Bridge completed the other stations up to number 35.
