Monthly averages and overall average (2005-2009) of the light attenuation coefficient in the water column for photosynthetically available radiation (KPAR)

GeoTiff datasets of average coefficient of light attenuation for photosynthetically active radiation (KPAR) in the Greater North Sea and Celtic Seas. The dataset kPAR2005_ 2009_250.tif contains the average annual KPAR calculated over the years 2005-2009. All other datasets are monthly averages (for 2005-2009), Numbers in the GeoTiff names inficate the montha, e.g. the dataset kpar_month_01_250.tif contains monthly averages for the month of January, kpar_month_02_250.tif is for the month of February and so on. Raster cell size 250m. Values are dimensionless and fall between 0 and 1, with 0 being no attenuation (clear water) and 1 being full light attenuation (very turbid).
