National Diabetes Audit - Diabetes Prevention Programme, 2017-18 Diagnoses and Demographics

The NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (NHS DPP) is a joint commitment from NHS England, Public Health England and Diabetes UK to deliver, at scale, evidence based behavioural interventions that can prevent or delay the onset of Type 2 diabetes in adults who have been identified as having non-diabetic hyperglycaemia. This report uses data collected alongside the National Diabetes Audit (NDA) for the period January 2017 to March 2018 inclusive. This report is for England only. Unlike the NDA, it does not include information on Wales. __Making clinical audit data transparent__ In his transparency and open data letter to Cabinet Ministers on 7 July 2011, the Prime Minister made a commitment to make clinical audit data available from the national audits within the National Clinical Audit and Patient Outcomes Programme. __What information is being made available?__ National Diabetes Audit - Diabetes Prevention Programme data for 2017-18 is available at England, Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and GP practice-level for: * Patient list size * Patient demographics * Diabetes characteristics * Diabetes Prevention Programme take-up These data do not list individual patient information nor do they contain any patient identifiable data. __Using and interpreting the data__ Data from the National Diabetes Audit - Diabetes Prevention Programme should not be looked at in isolation when assessing standards of care. __Accessing the data__ The data are being made available on the data.gov website. Each year a data file from the National Diabetes Audit - Diabetes Prevention Programme will be made available in CSV format. Hospitals are identified by name and their national code. __What does the data cover?__ The audit looks at the following areas: * Registrations and prevalence * Offers of DPP * Demographics __What period does the data cover?__ This report covers data collected alongside the National Diabetes Audit (NDA) for the period January 2017 to March 2018 inclusive. The audit report was published on 11 July 2019.
