This series is an amalgamation of all the river water quality data sets previously held on Data.Gov.UK (DGUK), thus consolidating all information about selected nutrients, heavy metals and other determinands entering into rivers in Great Britain in one location on DGUK. Data source is the Environment Agency (EA). The record includes the following datasets:
Annual average concentrations of Nitrate and Orthophosphate by landscape type 1980 to 2011 - The Harmonised Monitoring Scheme
Annual average concentrations of nitrates in selected groundwater sites experiencing elevated nitrate levels: 1980, 1990 - 2004
Average, highest and lowest mean concentrations of water quality. Nitrates by region: 1980 to 2011
Annual average, highest and lowest mean concentrations of orthophosphates by region Great Britain, 1980 to 2011. The Harmonised Monitoring Scheme
Annual average concentrations of selected determinands of river water quality, by river location: 1980 to 2011
Distribution of annual site mean concentration of certain heavy metals in rivers: 1980 to 2011
Annual average, highest and lowest mean concentrations of water quality determinands by region for dissolved oxygen, biological oxygen demand (BOD), and Ammoniacal nitrogen - From the Harmonised Monitoring Scheme
Biological river water quality: 1990-2009
A new measure of river water quality is being negotiated.
Chemical river water quality: 1990-2009
This dataset has been superceded by the new Water Framework Directive. A new measure is being discussed.
