Strategic noise maps for cities with more than 100 000 inhabitants (Tallinn and Tartu) and major roads for noise caused by car, tram, train and aircraft traffic and industrial sources are presented with the following indicators:
1) day-night noise indicator or Lden — long-term average sound pressure level determined on the basis of the number of sound pressure levels during the year for all day, evening and night time, which is an indicator of overall noise disturbance;
2) daily noise indicator or Lday — the long-term average sound pressure level determined on the basis of all daytimes of the year, which characterises the nuisance effect of the noise during the day from 7.00 to 19.00;
3) evening noise indicator or Levening — the long-term average sound pressure level determined on the basis of all evening times of the year, which characterises the disturbing effect of noise during the evening from 19.00 to 23.00;
4) Night noise indicator or Lnight — the long-term average sound pressure level determined on the basis of all nighttimes of the year, which is an indicator of sleep peace-infringing noise and characterises the disturbance of sleep peace at night from 23.00-7.00.
