Dataset description

GeodPT08 is a model of the geoid for mainland Portugal, developed by FCUL in partnership with the Portuguese Geographical Institute, current Directorate-General of the Territory. As a local model, the GeodPT08 allows an improvement of the accuracy in the determination of orthometric altitudes in mainland Portugal in relation to other global models, namely in real-time positioning with GNSS systems. The GeodPT08 consists of a grid of 1‘,5 in 1’,5 of geoid ripples referring to the ellipsoid GRS80, as this is the one used in the reference system PT-TM06/ETRS89. Guides to support the use of WMS and WFS/ATOM services can be accessed in the open data area of the DGT Portal.
