Biogeographical regions (Arts and Habitats Directive)

Biogeographical regions as defined in the Art and Habitats Directive. Identifying, monitoring and reporting for terrestrial habitats under the Directive is based on these regions. The dataset covers only Sweden (alpin, boreal and continental region) based on the dataset provided by the EEA, but has been adjusted to cover only Sweden and boreal and continental region have been adjusted to include coastal areas. The original dataset (available through the EEA website) contains a generalised coastline (which does not match the GGD). In the Swedish dataset we have chosen to remove this generalised coastline in order to calculate statistics on all terrestrial habitat types.
