Number of kilograms of household waste collected per adjusted population in municipalities in the Umeå region. Household waste includes food and residual waste (previously referred to as vascular and sack waste), coarse waste including garden waste, hazardous waste, comparable waste from shops, offices, industries and restaurants, as well as the part of household waste covered by producer responsibility (packaging, newspapers, electrical waste, batteries, etc.), even if it does not fall under municipal cleaning responsibility. The number of residents is adjusted taking into account holiday homes, guest nights and commuting. In distinct holiday-dwelling municipalities or municipalities with extensive tourist activities, much more household waste is generated than the permanent residents generate. Even in municipalities with large commuting surpluses, a lot of household waste is generated through the workplaces. By using an adjusted population, the amount of waste per person is reflected more accurately for the own municipalityData may be missing for some municipalities in the Umeå region
