Oak areas and point layer oaks from 2006 were updated in 2017 with the help of new field inventories and aerial image interpretation based on management aspects, as well as complementing new found giant oaks. However, the SHP file Core Areas is the same as was created in 2007 based on the 2006 inventory, as no new value classifications have been made within the project. The polygons show areas with clusters of oak areas and charted oak trees that have been assessed as core areas for the Stockholm city’s oak environments. Buffer zones of 250 m made around all class 1 and 2 oaks from the point layer “Ekar” have been the basis for the geographical delimitation. The other criteria have been the presence of at least one class 1 oak area in a core area and a total of at least 30 rough oaks of Class 1 to 3, of which at least 10 valuable oaks of Class 1-2. More information; Data has been produced for the project “Stockholm’s Unique Oak Environments” on behalf of the Land Office, Stockholm City. Description of the method can be found in the Report “Stockholm’s unique oak environments — Method development and literature study 2006-10-01”. Analysis results and more information can be found in the final report “Stockholm’s unique oak environments — Presence, conservation and development” written by Ekologigruppen AB, May 2007.
