The object type contains isolating joints on the network. Insulator joints are part of the positioning system and section the track into blocks to keep track of train positions. Insulating joints located in a switches and crossings are described as a component of the object type of switches and crossings.
Insulating joints prevent the current from one rail lift to the other. Insulating joints are used to:
delineate the extent of the track line, isolate rails through switches and where the I and S rails change location.
Body model — determines the type of joint as described above and which model of that type
Manufacturing year
Year of posting
Inspection class if different from track
For Isoler joints:
passing rail length — length of joint, see image of insulating joint
hard earth — the sealing of the insulating joint does to prevent overrolling
AOC — e.g. in one gear there may be several isolating joints than necessary and then they may be active, i.e. in use or dormant
The data product has point propagation and connects to the network by reference to the previous node and the previous kilometre board with distances in metres in the direction of the track link and indicating the lateral position of the object in relation to the direction of the track link (right left)
