Dataset description

The angled mapping of the Earthllipsoid into the plane takes place in the system of the Austrian State Survey MGI (Military Geographic Institute) by the Gauss-Krüger projection. The “Bundesmeldenetz” (BMN) is used to define objects in a coordinate manner. Information on the reporting system can be seen on each card sheet. The ÖK50-BMN is available in two versions. Each of the 213 sheets of cards has an extent of 15’eq x 15’ and covers an area of about 520 km².
