Dataset description

Between May and September 2023, a total of 93 individuals were identified in 30 areas. These were 67 adult, 6 subadult and 20 juvenile individuals. Five new areas have been identified this year, one of which is currently unpopulated. Five of the previously known areas seemed to be orphaned this year. The number of reproducing marmots in the area appears to be large enough to maintain the subpopulation. Alpine marmot census gave 93 marmots in 30 territories from May to September 2023. We counted 67 adults, 6 subadults and 20 juveniles. 5 New Territories Were Discovered, One of Them Not Accommodated in This Year 5 Established Territories No Longer Given Evidence of Marmots. According to literature, the total number of reproducing marmots is sufficient to maintain the sub-population in this area.
