Policy paper on the use of telemetry on wild birds in Austria

Version 1.0 February 2021 The present document is intended to make recommendations for the broadcasting of wild birds in Austria and to serve as a guideline for the actors and authorities involved in the approval or implementation of projects with broadcasting. It was developed in cooperation with a number of institutions and people familiar with the topic (see list at the end of the document). Should an adaptation of the recommendations be necessary due to future gains in knowledge, the final version must be used. This is available on the websites of the Austrian Ornithological Institute or BirdLife Austria.
