Source mapping 2012: Reichenstein group south

This report includes the mapping of the springs in the area of Sparafeld and Reichenstein, i.e. catchment areas Flitzengraben to Kalblinggatterl to Mödlinger Hütte and Kirchengraben as well as Treffnergraben between Mödlinger Hütte and Donner. 80 sources were located using GPS and examined with regard to water type, temperature and conductivity. The individual mapping areas are described in terms of location and geomorphology. Except for a few shots, the springs originate from partly very unstable steep ditches of the Permoskythic limestone alps base and from the metamorphic Paleozoic of the Grauwakenzone. The mapped mountain waters are predominantly located at 1,000 to 1,450 m above sea level and have low bulking throughout. Due to the diverse geology, a wide range of mineralization can be found.
