Specialist plan Rough-footed chicken management in the Gesäuse National Park

In the fields of habitat design, visitor management, wildlife management & regulation, infrastructure and communication, the specialist plan Roughfoot Chicken Management identifies various points of discussion and formulates goals for the habitat of capercaillie, birch grouse, hazel grouse and snow grouse in the national park area. The previous definitions in the management are examined and the development of the species since the founding of the national park is presented. In the derivation of measures, all departments of the national park were involved and expert opinions were obtained. If relevant points emerged from the discussion, measures were formulated and the responsibilities within Nationalpark Gesäuse GmbH were defined. This provides the basis for the protection of rough-footed chickens for the next 15 years.
