Sustainability under observation

Sustainability stands for a development that meets the needs of today's generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs (UTERI, 2006). The definition of sustainability manifests itself in an ever-growing dimension to more and more areas of life. Prevention and precaution also play an increasingly important role. The focus of our work was the application of an innovative monitoring concept and its practical feasibility on the basis of a company of our choice. We opted for Nationalpark Gesäuse GmbH to get a more detailed insight into the working and functioning of a national park. It seemed to us to be not only of personal interest, but possibly of future interest as well. This assumption has been further confirmed in the course of the work. Gesäuse National Park and Nationalpark Gesäuse GmbH are committed to modern and cooperative nature conservation. In addition to the legally enshrined tasks of nature conservation and environmental education, the aim is to continue the tradition of gentle tourism.
