CN (Combined Nomenclature) Description: The CN is the European version of the Harmonized System (HS). It is composed of 8-digit numerically encoded positions. The very numerous subdivisions are adapted to the specific EU customs and foreign trade statistical needs. The CN is revised annually. The versions of the CN are always linked to the respective year (e.g. CN 2008 applies to the year 2008). Relation to other classifications: ISIC, NACE, ÖNACE, CPC, HS, SITC, CPA, ÖCPA, PRODCOM, ÖPRODCOM
