Ö-ISCO (Austrian Professional Classification) Description: The Ö-ISCO 08 is derived from the ISCO 08. ISCO 08 is the international standard classification of occupations. ISCO was developed by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and primarily serves to enable the international comparability of labour market statistics. It is also intended to serve as a model for countries that want to revise or create a national occupational classification. For the correct application of Ö-ISCO 08, explanatory texts and an alphabetical list of professions are available. The Ö-ISCO 08 comprises 436 occupational categories at the lowest level (4 digits).
