PRODCOM (list of goods for the manufacturing sector) Description: PRODCOM refers to the EU system of production statistics in the mining and tangible goods sectors. The most important part of these production statistics is the underlying product classification, the so-called PRODCOM list. However, this is not reflected in the Regulation, but is prepared annually by the PRODCOM Committee. The positions of the PRODCOM list are defined by the Harmonised System or the Combined Nomenclature. The coding is done via an 8-digit code, the first six digits of which are identical to the CPA codes. The PRODCOM list is therefore directly linked to the central goods classification. The versions of PRODCOM are always linked to the respective year (e.g. PRODCOM 2008 applies to the year 2008).
