Annual report of air quality measurements in Austria 2018.

The annual report contains the results of the air quality measurements of the federal states and the Federal Environment Agency for the year 2018. The measurement results show: The IG-L limit value for the annual mean value for nitrogen dioxide was exceeded at 21 measuring points in seven federal states. The main culprits are diesel motor vehicles, limit value exceedances occur predominantly in traffic-laden locations. For particulate matter (PM10), the IG-L limit value for the daily average value was not complied with at three measuring points in Graz. In the case of benzo(a)pyrene, sulphur dioxide and dust precipitation (including lead), isolated exceedances were measured in accordance with IG-L. The target values for ozone were exceeded in most of Austria. The IG-L limits and targets for carbon monoxide, PM2.5, heavy metals and benzene were met throughout Austria in 2018.
