EQA scheme 2010

The EQA scheme of the Forum Schall in 2010 focused on the determination of repetition and comparison limits in the measurement of sound emission. The interlaboratory test was carried out in the test rooms of the General Accident Insurance Institute in Vienna. The central task was to determine the sound power by measuring in the low-reflection room (outdoor sound radiation) and in the modified reverberation room. Thus, the two most common cases for tests of sound power in situ were mapped. It was shown that the process results in a significantly higher accuracy in the modified reverberation chamber than specified in ÖNORM EN ISO 3743-2. Measurements in the open field also achieve the accuracies expected according to ÖNORM EN ISO 3744 in the interlaboratory test. These findings can be incorporated into national and international standardisation.
