Dataset description

This report presents information on greenhouse gas emission projections for Austria and relevant policies and measures, according to reporting obligations as defined in Regulation (EU) 2018/1999 on the Governance of the Energy Union and Climate Action. It includes greenhouse gas projections for the coming years up to 2050 and describes the policies and measures to reduce emissions from each source. The results include two different scenarios: the scenario “with existing measures” takes into account climate change mitigation measures implemented by 30 June 2024. It shows a decrease of 48 % in greenhouse gases from 1990 to 2050. The scenario “with additional measures” incorporates the planned policies and measures outlined in Austria’s Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan (December 2024). Within this scenario a decrease of 68 % is projected for 2050.
