Noise Policy for Events

The Noise Directive for Events is a recast of the Directive for open-air events published in 2000 and provides a technical basis for assessing the noise emissions from events. It can be used for planning and approving events and serves as a decision-making aid to evaluate locations from a sound engineering point of view and to determine the permissible number of events. The scope of the Directive has been extended to cover all types of events. It is also applicable to noise immissions that penetrate from buildings into the open air. The previously included approaches for determining the emissions of music events have been supplemented by noise emissions for motorsport events.
