Central Landfill Information Management System

The database is available on the Agency's website and via the WMS/WFS GIS web service. Access is limited to competent authorities and institutions for monitoring landfills and waste disposal. The database contains: general information (e.g. name of the landfill, county, category of landfill, information on the operator, etc.); information on the equipment of the landfill (e.g. whether the landfill has a drainage system, degassing, sorting plant, etc.); data on the quantities of waste disposed of (e.g. deposited in a calendar year, total deposited, capacity, etc.); data on remediation and documentation of the landfill (e.g. disposal permit, remediation status, remediation costs, etc.). Data in the database are continuously collected in the Croatian Agency for the Environment and Nature and the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund from landfill operators and competent authorities at local and national level. Legal basis: To monitor the achievement of the objectives laid down in Council Directive 1999/31/EC of 26 April 1999 on the disposal of waste and the Sustainable Waste Management Act (NN No 94/13) Target beneficiaries: Croatian Environment and Nature Agency, Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund, Ministry of Environmental Protection and Energy, inspection services and other competent authorities and institutions.
