Damage to forest ecosystems of the Republic of Croatia with description of plant communities from 1997 to 2004

The database includes the results of the assessment of damage to forest ecosystems (defoliation, discoloration and tree mortality) through ICP Level I permanent bioindication panels in the 16x16 km network distributed across the country. In the database there are identification cards of all permanent surfaces (approx. 100 plots) on which monitoring is carried out with the following parameters: coordinates, locality, availability of water, type of soil, type of geological substrate, altitude, inclination, exposure, age and structure of stands, dominant plant species, represented plant communities and type of climate. An integral part of the database is a description of plant communities located on permanent experimental plots, about 60 of them and a GIS viewer, photo manual and methodology for assessing damage to forest ecosystems. Data in the database were collected from the Faculty of Forestry and the Croatian Forest Research Institute. Data refer to the period from 1997 to 2004. The database is not continuously updated.
