Mapping and assessment of ecosystems and their services

The database contains data on spatial representation of ecosystem types according to the EUNIS habitat classification. The ecosystem map is based on the CLC Land Cover for Croatia 2012 http://www.azo.hr/CORINELandCover. The methodology is described in the study ‘Mapping and Assessment of Ecosystems and their Services in Croatia’ http://www.azo.hr/MappingIAssessment. According to the methodology recommended by the European Commission http://biodiversity.europa.eu/maes, some CLC classes are associated with the respective ecosystem classes according to the EUNIS habitat classification (EUNIS habitats classification http://eunis.eea.europa.eu/habitats-code-browser.jsp). According to the classification of ecosystem services developed by the EEA, ecosystem services are divided into sectors, groups and classes: Supply services; regulatory services; and support and cultural services. Publicly available on the website of the Croatian Agency for Environment and Nature in the form of a GIS browser.
