Credit institutions

Credit institutions are institutions authorised by the Croatian National Bank in accordance with the Credit Institutions Act whose activity is to take deposits or other repayable funds from the public and to grant credits for their own account. A credit institution in Croatia may be established as a bank, savings bank or housing savings bank. Banks in liquidation and banks in bankruptcy are not included in the credit institutions sector. The tables show aggregate data on assets and liabilities of credit institutions and data on interest rates of credit institutions. In addition, tables and figures show, on an individual and aggregated level, data on the income statement and capital adequacy of credit institutions, as well as other relevant data on credit institutions. Data are based on the reporting system in accordance with the Decision on statistical and prudential reporting and on the framework for the supervision and collection of prudential reports of credit institutions.
