DTS - results and news for the period January-April, 2016 The system of payment of hospitals according to diagnostic therapy groups (DTS) is a classification of treatment episodes from which is visible due to the disease of which organic system the patients are hospitalized, what type of procedure was performed (operation or conservative treatment) and whether the case was complex due to complications of treatment or associated diseases (comorbidities) or the treatment went without complications and comorbidities. Data on DTS are collected from personal accounts that hospitals issue for hospital treatment of all patients in the Republic of Croatia. In addition to monitoring the occurrence of diseases and conditions, for the purpose of monitoring methods and data contained in the invoices themselves, data are also collected on the length of hospital treatment, and on the material costs of the treatment carried out (costs for medicines and medical materials). By examining the analysis of DTS accounts, the user gets a good impression of the complexity of the hospital system, the costs of health care, but also the incidence of diseases and the way of hospital treatment of these diseases on the territory of the Republic of Croatia.
