Port of Rijeka Authority

The Port of Rijeka Authority was established for the management, construction and use of the port of Rijeka. The activities of the Port Authority are: care for the construction, maintenance, management, protection and improvement of the maritime domain constituting the port area; construction and maintenance of port substructure, financed from the budget of the founder of the port authority; professional supervision of the construction, maintenance, management and protection of the port area (port substructures and superstructures); ensuring the continuous and uninterrupted operation of port traffic, technical-technological unity and safety of navigation; ensuring the provision of services of general interest or for which there is no economic interest of other economic operators; coordination and supervision of the work of concession holders carrying out an economic activity in the port area; other tasks laid down by the Act. The Port of Rijeka Authority grants a concession for the performance of port and other economic activities, the use of existing substructures and superstructures, and the construction of new buildings and other superstructures and substructures, to a legal and natural person registered to perform crafts, under the conditions and in the manner provided for by legal provisions.
