I 2015 vedtog FN's 193 medlemslande - herunder Danmark - 17 Verdensmål for bæredygtigt også kaldet Sustainable Development Goals eller SDG'erne. På Danmarks Statistiks Verdensmålsplatform: https://www.dst.dk/da/Statistik/temaer/SDG kan man se flere hundrede indikatorer for, hvordan det går med at opfylde Verdensmålene for Danmark. Både globale (SDG) og nationale mål: I erkendelsen af, at de globale målsætninger ikke er en ’one size fits all’-løsning for alle lande, har FN opfordret til, at hvert enkelt land fastsætter egne mål og selv følge op på realiseringen af dem. På den baggrund har man i 2020-2021 etableret 200 særlige nationale indikatorer, også kaldet Vores Mål. Når vi i daglig tale snakker om verdensmålene, mener vi typisk både de 234 unikke globale SDG indikatorer og de 200 nationale indikatorer. Danmarks Statistik belyser de fleste globale og nationale målepunkter, og vil frem til 2030 vise den statistiske udvikling for dem.
