Preserved ancient monuments, area

Summary The listed ancient monuments are a subset of the Danish Agency for Culture and Palaces' database of Fund and Ancient Monuments and constitute approximately 35,000 out of a total of approximately 200,000 registrations. The basis for the registration is the National Museum's rise of the whole country from the 1870s to 1930 and subsequent reports from the Danish museums about new archaeological sites. From 2008-2012, a survey was carried out of all protected ancient monuments, including GPS surveying. These survey data are continuously reported to Fund og Fortidsminder. The data set includes, among other things, the layer Cultural Heritage Areas. Heritage sites are areas of particular interest because there is a high probability that a high density of archaeological sites can be found in the areas.
