Estonian Verse Riddles

"Estonian verse puzzles" is a digital copy of the catalogue of verse puzzles and star games found in the manuscript collections of the Estonian Folklore Archives of the Estonian Literary Museum. In addition to archival collections, the database contains verse puzzles and star games published in various publications. Star games and verse puzzles (c. 1700 texts) belong mainly to the field of enigmatic authorship, which was practiced by many in the 19th century. Writers (e.g. O. W. Masing, J. V. Jannsen, J. Hurt, Fr. R. Kreutzwald, A. Grenzstein, et seq.) and which went into folklore through various printing sources, e.g. calendars, press publications at the time. On the question side of such rhyme notions is the text in the form of a verse (with J in the world I am food, with R in the aftermath of rebellion? Flour/peace).
