Protected terrestrial areas 2021 (raster 10m) based on NatDA, Natura 2000 and Emerald Network datasets (Internal version)

This raster data set combines the terrestrial protected areas from the following data sources: - Nationally designated areas (NatDA - formerly abbreviated "CDDA") for internal use - version 20, Jun. 2022 - Natura 2000 (vector) - version 2021, Apr. 2022 - Emerald Network data - the Pan-European network of protected sites version 2021, May 2022 From this version of the dataset, the assignment of the year ("2021") follows the Natura 2000 and Emerald network datasets. Prior to this, the year assignment followed the Nationally designated areas dataset. For each 10m pixel, the information exists whether the respective area is protected and by which protection: The pixel can be protected only nationally (CDDA) or e.g. according to European law and nationally (Natura 2000). This makes it possible to make Europe-wide statements about the protection. Example use cases: - Area of the protected area according to CDDA - Area of the protected area according to natura 2000 - Area protected by CDDA and Natura 2000 - Area which is only protected by CDDA IMPORTANT NOTE: Because of the use of the internal CDDA spatial dataset, no spatial maps or other visualizations showing potential location of protected areas may be generated from the PA data set presented here.
