Dataset description

The provided data serve the purpose to make the development and application of climate-envelope models presented in Heubel et al., 2025 reproducible. The folder Input data contains all files required to reproduce the climate-envelope modelling. The input data are distributed into Chorological maps required for validation purposes, historic (CRU) and future (CMIP6, AMOC collapse) bioclimatic variables, and files representing the national forest inventory presence data of the 24 modelled species. The file ModelStats summarise the model development which is required as input for the model application. The folder RScript contains the R-scripts necessary to 1) reproduce the model development and variable selection (ModelDevelopment) and apply the selected variable combinations to actually project tree-species distributions based on the bioclimatic variables. The folder Output contains all tree-species projections generated within the study. In order to reproduce the model development and application, a recent version of 'R' (>=4.0) is required, extended for the packages 'terra' and 'tidyverse'.

Questions before production use

Practical answers on evaluation, licensing, freshness, versioning and support.

Yes. Selected APIs include a free API quota, so your team can validate coverage, freshness, response shape and workflow fit before asking for a production plan.
Often yes, but usage rights depend on the source license and dataset. We surface source, license and update metadata where available, and can help review terms before a production integration.
Maintained APIs include update metadata where available. For production integrations, we can add history, monitoring and push updates so changes are easier to detect and act on.
Production APIs can add SLA, stable identifiers, versioning support, history, push updates and direct support around the data your product or AI workflow depends on.
