Extreme Precipitation Risk Dataset - Projected return period and magnitude shift of 100 mm / 24 h extreme rainfall affecting dairy cattle operations – RCP4.5 & RCP8.5 (2041–2070, 2071-2100), Aydın Province

This dataset contains the heavy rainfall risk assessment outputs for Aydın Province, Türkiye, developed within the CLIMAAX  project. The dataset quantifies projected changes in the return period of a 100 mm / 24-hour extreme precipitation event, which represents a critical rainfall threshold relevant for dairy cattle operations and infrastructure stress. RP_Aydin_threshold_100mm.tif represents the historical baseline return period map for the 1976–2005 period. RP_shift_threshold_100mm_24h_2041_2070_rcp45.tif and RP_shift_threshold_100mm_24h_2041_2070_rcp85.tif contain projected return period values for the 100 mm threshold. The corresponding files diff_RP_2041_2070_rcp45.tif and diff_RP_2041_2070_rcp85.tif provide the absolute change in return period relative to the historical baseline. RP_shift_threshold_100mm_24h_2071_2100_rcp85.tif contains projected return period values and diff_RP_2071_2100_rcp85.tif contains the change relative to the baseline period. Plots.zip contains visualization outputs including baseline return period maps, future projections, difference maps. 02_Heavy_Rainfall_Risk_Assessment.ipynb documents the complete workflow for threshold application, return period recalculation, difference mapping, and figure generation.
