Dataset description

The Climate Action To Advance HeaLthY Societies in Europe (CATALYSE) Project is a Horizon Europe project (https://catalysehorizon.eu/, HE 101057131) that seeks to provide new knowledge, data and tools to close the knowledge-to-action gap to accelerate climate change action and protect public health in Europe. This is a multi-dimensional initiative that spans fundamental research to the identification of optimal communication channels for information dissemination. Work Package 2 constitutes the development of mitigation policy scenarios and the modelling of associated emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs) and air pollutants for use in co-benefit analysis of health and other impacts. This dataset contains emissions of air pollutants generated with the GAINS model (http://gains.iiasa.ac.at/gains/EUN/index.login, Amann et al., 2011), based on energy projections from the PRIMES model (https://e3modelling.com/modelling-tools/primes/, Capros et al., 2019) and agriculture projections from the CAPRI model (https://www.capri-model.org/). The data presented here accompany the report "Emission Scenarios for Europe under the CATALYSE Project: Beyond the Green Deal" (https://pure.iiasa.ac.at/id/eprint/21253/) which documents the approach, methodology, and emission results in Europe until 2050. The emissions scenarios are: the Reference Scenario, reflecting energy and agriculture policies prior to the development of the EU Green Deal proposal (filenames starting Catalyse_CATALYSE_2024_ref_CLE_v3*) , the Green Deal Scenario, reflecting energy and agriculture policies in line with the objectives of the original Green Deal proposal (filenames starting Catalyse_CATALYSE_2024_GD_CLE_v3*), the Beyond Green Deal Scenario, reflecting effects of additional behavioral changes in the residential sector, transport modes, and diets, on top of the Green Deal Scenario (filenames starting Catalyse_CATALYSE_2024_BGD_CLE_v4*), and the Beyond Green Deal 90 Scenario, reflecting effects of additional stringent technical air pollution controls, on top of the Beyond Green Deal scenario (filenames starting Catalyse_CATALYSE_2024_BGD_OPT_v6*). The datasets include global gridded sectoral emissions provided as netcdf files with a spatial resolution of 0.1° × 0.1° and a monthly temporal resolution. Data is available for the period 2015-2050 in 5-year intervals for the Baseline scenarios and the set of 2030, 2040, 2050 for the OPT (optimized) scenario. While the dataset includes global emissions the emission scenario changes are only applied in the EU, i.e. the emissions outside the EU domain do not change between scenarios. Emissions do not include international shipping or international aviation. Open burning of biomass includes only emissions from open burning of agricultural residues but not forest, peat or savannah fires. The sectors for which gridded data are provided (might vary by pollutant, i.e. some layers will be missing) include: Energy sector, Residential combustion (cooking and heating), Transportation, Industry (combustion and processes), Solvent use, Waste management, Agriculture (livestock and fertilizer application), Open burning of agricultural residues.

Questions before production use

Practical answers on evaluation, licensing, freshness, versioning and support.

api.store is built and operated by Apitalks s.r.o. Company details and a direct contact path are linked in the footer for vendor checks and procurement review.
Yes. Selected APIs include a free API quota, so your team can validate coverage, freshness, response shape and workflow fit before asking for a production plan.
Often yes, but usage rights depend on the source license and dataset. We surface source, license and update metadata where available, and can help review terms before a production integration.
Maintained APIs include update metadata where available. For production integrations, we can add history, monitoring and push updates so changes are easier to detect and act on.
Production APIs can add SLA, stable identifiers, versioning support, history, push updates and direct support around the data your product or AI workflow depends on.
