Dataset description

This dataset provides structured and harmonised information on the first 45 Mission Soil Living Labs funded under the EU Mission “A Soil Deal for Europe” from the dedicated funding opportunities to set up Soil Health Living Labs of 2023 (Wave 1) and 2024 (Wave2). It compiles descriptive data on Living, including geographic location, land-use focus, Mission Soil objectives addressed, key strengths, descriptive overviews, and improvement techniques. Such data are non-sensitive, approved for publicly dissemination by each Living Lab, and originally published in SOILL Mission Soil Living Lab Catalogue (DOI: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14178714) The dataset is intended to support analysis, mapping, comparison, and knowledge sharing on Living Labs contributing to soil health, innovation, and co-creation within the Mission Soil framework. For each Living Lab, variables include project data (short name, full name, id, call, topic id, topic title, overal budget, eu contribution, start date, end date, duration, cordis link)  and Living Lab data (wave, name, biogeographical region, country, land-use, mission objectives, key strenghths, description, improvement techniques). Wave 1 data were originally collected by SOILL-Startup through the 2024 SOILL onboarding survey and published in the Mission Soil Living Labs Catalogue (DOI: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14178714), then revalidated by Living Lab managers for the 2025 update. Wave 2 data were collected by SOILL-Startup in 2025 through the dedicated SOILL onboarding survey and structured data collection template and published in the 2025 Mission Soil Living Lab Catalogue (DOI: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.17549268). All data were subsequently harmonised, standardised, and curated to ensure consistency and comparability across waves.

Yes. Selected APIs include a free API quota, so your team can validate coverage, freshness, response shape and workflow fit before asking for a production plan.
Often yes, but usage rights depend on the source license and dataset. We surface source, license and update metadata where available, and can help review terms before a production integration.
Maintained APIs include update metadata where available. For production integrations, we can add history, monitoring and push updates so changes are easier to detect and act on.
Production APIs can add SLA, stable identifiers, versioning support, history, push updates and direct support around the data your product or AI workflow depends on.
