Dataset description

README.md - PALM-4U Naples Dataset OverviewThis dataset is associated with Deliverable 3.5 of project KNOWING. This dataset contains input and output files for PALM-4U simulations performed for the Naples region (Italy). Two scenarios are included: 1. Reference scenario (current conditions)2. Future scenario (modified land-use for greening intervention scenarios) All data are provided in NetCDF format following PALM-4U conventions.   Simulation MetadataModel: PALM-4UVersion: v24.04Region: Naples, Italy Coordinate Reference System (CRS): EPSG:32633 (WGS84 / UTM zone 33N)Domain extent:  xmin: 432500.0  ymin: 4518000.0  xmax: 444500.0  ymax: 4527000.0 Horizontal resolution: 10 mVertical resolution: 10 m Modelled period: 06:00 03 August 2013 UTC to 06:00 04 August 2013 UTC Initial and Boundary ConditionsNo dynamic driver file was used for this simulation. The model was initialized with the vertical profiles of temperature, relative humidity, and wind measured at the nearest station to Naples—Practica di Mare (41.65° N, 12.43° E) on 3 August 2013—with all simulations initialized at 06 UTC. Although Practica di Mare is located approximately 170 km northwest of Naples, it exhibits a similarly maritime climate, making it suitable for defining the meteorological conditions.   Surface and Land-Use Data SourcesDigital elevation model (DEM) and digital surface model (DSM):    Source: Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV), Italy https://tinitaly.pi.ingv.it    Type: Raster data (10 m resolution)    Description: Terrain elevation and heights of surface objects such as buildings, trees, and vegetation. Building footprints:    Source: OpenStreetMap    Type: Vector data Vegetation and trees:    Sources: OpenStreetMap and local data made available by the Municipality of Naples    Type: Vector data Land use (streets, pavements, water bodies):    Source: OpenStreetMap    Type: Vector data   Folder StructureThe .tar.gz archive contains the following structure: Naples/    Reference_scenario/        INPUT/        OUTPUT/        USER_CODE/    Future_scenario1/        INPUT/        OUTPUT/        USER_CODE/    Future_scenario2/        INPUT/        OUTPUT/        USER_CODE/ Reference_scenario/    INPUT/ contains all static input files required by PALM-4U,including land-use data, building and vegetation data, and PALM configuration files.     OUTPUT/ contains the model output files for the reference scenario, including 2D atmospheric fields of ta_2m*_xy and bio_utci*_xy.     USER_CODE/ contains modifications to the original PALM-4U code. Here the water temperature is increased to 295 K. Future_scenario1/    Same structure as above, but with modified input data representing the low-greening planning scenario.    Future_scenario2/    Same structure as above, but with modified input data representing the extensive-greening planning scenario.     File FormatsAll simulation data are stored in: - NetCDF4 format- CF-compliant metadata where applicable- Compression applied where possible   How to Use the Data1. Extract the .tar.gz archive.2. Navigate to the scenario of interest (Reference_scenario or Future_scenario).3. Use the INPUT folder to inspect or reproduce the simulation setup.4. Use the OUTPUT folder for analysis, visualization, or comparison between scenarios.5. Tools such as palmplot, ncview, xarray, or netCDF4 can be used to explore the data.   CitationIf you use this dataset, please cite the Zenodo DOI associated with this archive: DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18329617   ContactFor questions regarding the dataset or simulation setup, please contact: Robert GolerGeoSphere Austriarobert.goler@geosphere.at

Questions before production use

Practical answers on evaluation, licensing, freshness, versioning and support.

api.store is built and operated by Apitalks s.r.o. Company details and a direct contact path are linked in the footer for vendor checks and procurement review.
Yes. Selected APIs include a free API quota, so your team can validate coverage, freshness, response shape and workflow fit before asking for a production plan.
Often yes, but usage rights depend on the source license and dataset. We surface source, license and update metadata where available, and can help review terms before a production integration.
Maintained APIs include update metadata where available. For production integrations, we can add history, monitoring and push updates so changes are easier to detect and act on.
Production APIs can add SLA, stable identifiers, versioning support, history, push updates and direct support around the data your product or AI workflow depends on.
