Dataset description

This data publication contains load-displacement data from nanoindentation tests on Ni3Si at high temperatures and high strain rates. It supplements the publication “High strain rate persistence of the strength anomaly in the L12 intermetallic compound Ni3Si evidenced by nanoindentation testing” DOI: 10.1016/j.actamat.2024.120598. The experiments consisted of indenting a polycrystalline, L12 single-phase Ni3Si sample up to a nominal depth of 2500 nm at strain rates between 0.1 and 100 s-1 and temperatures between 299 and 600 K. The high strain rate load-displacement data were acquired via coil current measurement and laser interferometry (PicoScale, Smaract, Germany) operated at 20 kHz, while the reference measurements at 0.1 s-1 were recorded at 1 kHz through an InQuest controller (KLA, USA). The measurements were aimed at characterizing the evolution of the flow stress anomaly at increasingly high strain rates. Detailed descriptions of the sample composition, hardware and testing parameters are available in the publication. The high temperature nanoindentation tests were carried out at Texas A&M University (1617 Research Pkwy, College Station, TX 77845, USA) using the custom MRI2 nanoindenter, equipped with a WC/W2C tungsten carbide tip procured from Synton MDP (Switzerland). The load-displacement data are provided in CSV .txt files, each corresponding to a single test at a specific temperature and strain rate. File names follow the convention “NiSi XXXK SRYYYYY 2500nm - Test ZZ P-h.txt”, where XXX denotes the temperature in K, YYYYY the strain rate in s-1, and ZZ the test number for a given parameter set. 16 indentations were measured per condition, invalid tests being excluded. Each .txt file contains two tab-separated columns. Row 1 is the header and provides the data description with corresponding physical unit, e.g., "Load from coil /mN". Column 1 corresponds to the load, and Column 2 to the displacement values.

Questions before production use

Practical answers on evaluation, licensing, freshness, versioning and support.

api.store is built and operated by Apitalks s.r.o. Company details and a direct contact path are linked in the footer for vendor checks and procurement review.
Yes. Selected APIs include a free API quota, so your team can validate coverage, freshness, response shape and workflow fit before asking for a production plan.
Often yes, but usage rights depend on the source license and dataset. We surface source, license and update metadata where available, and can help review terms before a production integration.
Maintained APIs include update metadata where available. For production integrations, we can add history, monitoring and push updates so changes are easier to detect and act on.
Production APIs can add SLA, stable identifiers, versioning support, history, push updates and direct support around the data your product or AI workflow depends on.
