Summary This dataset provides high-resolution measurements of building management system (BMS) signals and energy consumption data collected from seven pilot buildings in Ålesund, Norway, as part of the EU Horizon Project COLLECTiEF. Data collection spans from September 2022 to April 2025 and includes a variety of buildings such as schools, medical centers, care facilities, and a sports arena, representing a wide range of Norwegian public building types. The dataset includes one-minute BMS time series of thermal zone conditions (indoor temperature, CO₂, setpoints, actuator gains) and system-level operational signals, complemented by hourly smart meter data on electricity usage. Metadata and semantic descriptions are provided in Brick and REC formats to ensure compatibility, enabling cross-building, cross-system, and climate-related analyses. This dataset offers a unique resource for research on building energy efficiency, demand-side flexibility, and data-driven control in Nordic climates, an underrepresented building context in publicly available datasets.  Access to the dataset requires a signed non-disclosure agreement (NDA). Description The dataset was created under the EU Horizon Project COLLECTiEF, which aims to enable Collective Intelligence-based Demand-Side Management (CI-DSM) for more flexible and energy-efficient building operations. It addresses a crucial gap in the availability of operational data from non-residential public buildings in Nordic climates. Data was collected from seven large public buildings owned by Haram Municipality and operated by a common BMS provider, ensuring consistency in data acquisition and system setup. The monitored buildings include:: Schools Medical and healthcare centers Elder care facilities Sports arena These facilities cover construction years from 1959 to 2017 and conditioned floor areas ranging from 2,200 m² to 7,000 m², representing both newly built and renovated public buildings. Data coverage BMS signals (1-minute resolution): Indoor temperature, CO₂ concentration, zone/system setpoints, and actuator states. Energy data (1-hour resolution): Electricity consumption from main and sub-meters. Weather data (1-hour resolution): Outdoor air temperature, wind, irradiance, precipitation, and wet-bulb temperature. Dataset structure Size: 64.4 GB (uncompressed), XX.X GB (compressed). Files: 7 metadata files (<building>_metadata.json) containing building attributes such as construction year, floor area, energy systems, EPC rating, and Smart Readiness Indicator score. 7 ontology files (<building>_ontology.ttl) providing full semantic descriptions of buildings, systems, sensors, and meters (Brick + REC). Time series data in CSV format: ThermalZones/: one CSV file per zone with measured values, setpoints, and actuator gains (1-min resolution). Equipment/: system-level data (e.g., generation/distribution) in 1-min resolution. Ventilation/: ventilation-level data in 1-min resolution. Meters/: whole-building and sub-meter data, stored in meters.csv (1-hour resolution, kWh). Weather/: hourly meteorological and satellite-derived data stored in weather.csv. Applications The dataset supports: Comparative research on thermal comfort, ventilation, and daylighting. Cross-climate and cross-building performance analyses. Development of data-driven models for IEQ, building operations, and demand-side management. Integration into semantic tools and digital twins via Brick metadata. Access Access to this dataset is restricted. The dataset does not contain personal data within the meaning of the GDPR. Restrictions apply to safeguard contractual and ethical obligations and to protect the integrity of the pilot studies.
