Summary This dataset contains high-resolution measurements of indoor environmental quality (IEQ) collected from 14 pilot buildings monitored under the EU Horizon Project COLLECTiEF. Data collection occurred from August 2022 to October 2024 across four different European climates: Cyprus, France, Italy, and Norway. The dataset includes measurements of carbon dioxide, total volatile organic compounds, air temperature, relative humidity, and illuminance. The buildings represented in this dataset encompass a range of typologies, including schools, medical centers, residential buildings, universities, and elder care facilities. Measurements were taken using multimodal IEQ sensors at a one-minute sampling frequency, resulting in up to two years of time series data for each monitored area. Additionally, the dataset is enhanced with Brick metadata to ensure interoperability and facilitate cross-domain research. This allows for comparative studies on comfort, ventilation, daylighting, and energy-efficient building operation. Access to the dataset requires a signed non-disclosure agreement (NDA). Description This dataset addresses important research gaps in indoor environmental quality (IEQ) by providing detailed measurements of thermal comfort and air quality. These measurements were developed as part of the EU Horizon Project COLLECTiEF, which focuses on testing and implementing scalable management systems based on Collective Intelligence-based Demand-Side Management (CI-DSM). The dataset consists of high-resolution time series data collected every minute over a period of up to two years, from August 31, 2022, to October 20, 2024. It includes measurements of CO₂ levels, total volatile organic compounds (TVOC), air temperature, relative humidity, and illuminance, gathered from 82 monitored zones across 14 pilot buildings situated in four distinct climates in Europe. Norway (Ålesund, B01–B07): Healthcare centre, school, medical centre, and sports arena, constructed between 1959 and 2015. France (Grenoble, B08): University laboratory and office spaces (G2Elab living lab, built 2015). Cyprus (Nicosia, B09–B11): University buildings and laboratories, constructed between the 1970s and 2013. Italy (Milan, B12–B14): Multifamily residential buildings from the 1970s. These pilots collectively represent up to 40% of typical European building types, offering a unique opportunity for comparative indoor environmental quality analysis across various buildings and climates. Dataset structure Size: 10.8 GB (uncompressed), 2.81 GB (compressed). Files: 14 building metadata files (<building>_metadata.json) with attributes at building, floor, and zone levels. 14 Brick schemas (<building>_bricks.ttl) providing complete semantic graphs of buildings, zones, and sensors. Zone-level CSV files (zone1.csv, zone2.csv, …) containing raw time series measurements. MANIFEST.md summarising file organisation. Organisation: Hierarchical folder tree (data/B01/, data/B02/, …) for intuitive navigation. Applications The dataset supports: Comparative research on thermal comfort, ventilation, and daylighting. Cross-climate and cross-building performance analyses. Development of data-driven models for IEQ, building operations, and demand-side management.
