Very Long-term Iberian Fish Database

The Very Long-term Iberian Fish Database (VLT-fish_Iberia) compiles 94,204 fish remains from 441 samples across 225 archaeological sites throughout Iberia. Of these remains, 54% are identified to species level, 24% to family level, and 6% to genus level. Spanning roughly 90,000 years, from the Middle Palaeolithic to the 19th century, VLT-fish_Iberia constitutes a valuable resource for research on aquatic environments, human presence, and resource exploitation over the long term. Because zooarchaeological datasets are inherently incomplete and continually evolving, VLT-fish_Iberia will be updated as new material becomes available, following the same recording standards to ensure consistency.
