Dataset description

Yleisten kirjastojen toiminta- ja taloustilastot. Opetus- ja kulttuuriministeriö vastaa aluehallintovirastojen kanssa kuntien yleisten kirjastojen kansallisesta perustilastoinnista. Tietokannan tilastotietojen tuotantoon osallistuvat Ahvenanmaata lukuun ottamatta Suomen yleiset kirjastot ja aluehallintovirastot. Kirjastot päivittävät itse tilastotietonsa tietokantaan, mutta ennen niiden julkaisemista aluehallintovirastot tarkistavat tietojen oikeellisuuden. Tiedot koskevat kutakin tilastointivuotta 1.1. - 31.12. väliseltä ajalta. Kokoelmatiedot annetaan kuitenkin tilanteesta 31.12. Tietokannassa on tietoja vuodesta 1999 alkaen, mutta vuosien 1999 ja 2000 tiedot ovat osin suppeammat. Vuosien 1999-2001 toimintakulut sisältävät arvonlisäveron. Vuodesta 2002 alkaen toimintakulut eivät sisällä arvonlisäveroa. Tilastotietojen perusyksikkö on kunnan tai kuntien yhteinen kirjastolaitos kokonaisuutena. Yksittäisten palvelupisteiden tietoja ei ole tilastoitu erikseen. Tilastot on julkaistu Creative Commons Nimeä 4.0 Kansainvälinen -lisenssillä.
