Food establishments in Helsinki under food control supervision by the Food Safety Department

**NOTE:** This material will no longer be maintained after January 2019. As of 21 January 2019, the corresponding information will be maintained in the Finnish Food Authority's national VATI system. The data includes food establishments in Helsinki that are subject to food control. The material includes serving and selling places. The objectives of food control are: - to ensure the appropriate quality and safety of food for consumers; - protect consumers from health hazards and economic losses caused by food; - to ensure that consumers receive sufficient and accurate information about food in order to make their choices. Food premises means any building or apartment, or part thereof, or any other outdoor or indoor space in which foodstuffs intended for sale or other delivery are prepared, stored, transported, marketed, served or otherwise handled, except the place of primary production (Food Act 23/2006). Wholesale items have been excluded from the material. The information in the dataset is based on notifications from operators.
