Bathing waters under the Bathing Water Directive

Since 2006, bathing areas in Finland exceed the visitor numbers set by the EU Bathing Water Directive. The bathing areas are classified into old, existing and new (whether yearly). The data has been obtained from the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), but it has been corrected in Syke and regional centres. The data is included in SYKE's open data (CC BY 4.0). An INSPIRE data product has been published from the data. In Finland areas with more than 100 visitors per day are included in the monitoring programme. The dataset is originally produced by the Public Health Institute (KTL) and it has been later corrected in Finnish Environment Institute and in local ELY-Centres. The dataset has information from 2006. This Syke’s dataset can be used according to open data license (CC BY 4.0). INSPIRE compatible dataset has been published.
