Corine land cover 2018

CORINE Land Cover 2018 describes the land use and land cover of the whole of Finland in 2018. At heart, the EU's Copernicus Land project produced land cover data from Finland and produced data describing changes in land cover between 2012 and 2018. The data was created at two levels of accuracy: one in accordance with EU requirements and the other for national use. The data consists of a raster-shaped spatial database (distinctiveness 20*20 m) and a vector-shaped spatial database, in which the smallest area visible on the terrain is at least 25 ha and at its narrowest 100 metres. The smallest figure in the national change data 2012-2018 is 0.5 ha and the European 5 ha. The data was produced on the basis of existing spatial datasets and satellite imagery interpretation in Syke. The vector data was produced by generalizing the raster data into a mug of the EEA's CORINE rules. In vector datasets, land use/land cover is described by a three-level hierarchical classification. Five main categories (built-up areas; agricultural areas; forests and open canvas and rocky soils; wetlands and open swamps and water areas) are divided into a total of 15 subcategories at the second level. At the third level of classification, the classes are further subdivided into a total of 44 buckets. For some categories, there are still national categories at the fourth level in the racist dataset. The data is included in SYKE's open data (CC BY 4.0). An INSPIRE data product has been published from the data. Purpose: Vector data with a minimum graph size of 25 ha/change of 5 ha has been produced for the European Environment Agency. More detailed raster data at 20 m resolution and 1 ha of change data are intended for national use to describe land cover/land use. In addition to spatial data analysis, the data can also be used as background maps. The dataset includes several spatial layers: • CLC raster (resolution of 20x20 m) • CLC vector (minimum mapping unit 25 hectares and minimum width 100 m). • Change vector (minimum mapping unit 5 hectares) • Change raster (minimum mapping unit 0.5 hectares) The dataset has been produced in Finnish Environment Institute (Syke), based on automated interpretation of satellite images and data integration with existing digital map data. The vector dataset was produced from raster data by generalization according to the CORINE 2018 project class definitions. The nomenclature of the vector data has 3 hierarchy levels. The first level classes are: artificial surfaces, agricultural areas, forests and seminatural areas, wetlands and water. The second level has 15 classes and the third level 44 sub-classes. The more specific raster dataset (20 m x 20 m) and the change (0,5 ha) were produced for national use to provide information on Finnish land cover and land use. The datasets can be used in analyses and as background maps. The source material is generally from years 2016-2017.
