Dataset description

Harjujensuojeluohjelmaa varten inventoitiin 1970-luvulla Suomen harjujen geologisia ja maisemallisia arvoja (pl. Ahvenanmaa). Ohjelman valmistelussa käytetty inventointimateriaali, eli tarkemmat kohdetiedot sisältävät inventointilomakkeet ja kartat digitoitiin SykessäYKEssä vuonna 2023. Työn tarkoituksena oli estää paperisessa muodossa olevien arvokkaiden tietojen katoaminen, ja aineiston saaminen laajaan käyttöön. Harjujensuojeluohjelman tärkeimmistä kohteista on tuotettu fyysinen julkaisu Valtakunnallinen harjujensuojeluohjelma. Ympäristöministeriö, Ympäristön- ja luonnonsuojeluosasto D:6. 1984. 71 p. Helsinki. https://helda.helsinki.fi/handle/10138/332673. Julkaisusta kuitenkin puuttuu kohteiden kuvaukset sekä vähemmän arvokkaiksi luokitellut kohteet kuvauksineen. Inventointiaineisto kerättiin aikanaan Etelä-Suomessa maastotutkimuksilla ja muualla Suomessa maastoa tutkittiin pienkoneita käyttäen. Aineistoa säilytettiin Valtioneuvoston arkistossa. Skannatut dokumentit on myös arkistoitu. Digitoidussa aineistossa kuvioita on 1112 kpl. Aineisto kuuluu SykenYKEn avoimiin aineistoihin (CC BY 4.0). The national esker protection programme inventories, 1970s and 1980s In the 1970s, the geological and landscape values of Finnish eskers (excluding Åland) were inventoried under the National Esker Protection Programme. The inventory material used in the preparation of the program, i.e. the inventory forms and maps containing more detailed site information, were digitized at Syke in 2023. The aim of the work was to prevent the loss of valuable information in paper form, and to make the material widely accessible. The most important sites of the esker protection program have been published in the series onf as a physical publication in the series of Ministry of the Environment, Environment and Nature Conservation. However, there are no site descriptions in the publication and the sites assessed as less valuable are lacking. The inventory material was collected in southern Finland in field survey projects, and in other parts of Finland the area small airplanes werew used. The material has been stored in the archives of the Government. There are 1112 sites in the digitized material. Some sites have data from two separate inventories, so the same site can have two overlapping polygons. In addition to habitat status assessment this dataset can be used for research and to support the tasks of the environmental administration. Rajaukset edustavat suurin piirtein tutkittua aluetta (harju + lähiympäristö). Poikkeavista kuvioinneista on maininta lisätietokentässä. Aineisto digitoitiin QGis-ohjelmiston avulla. The delineation method of inventoried objects varies by region. The boundaries roughly represent the studied area (esker + surrounding area). Triangular polygons represent sites for which there was either no map at all, no delineation on the map, or the outlines of the site were too difficult to interpret, or there was some other uncertainty concerning the delineation. A note was added in the information field in case the outlines are differing. The sites were located based on maps, topographic map sheets, coordinates or place name. The polygon was digitized using the scanned and georeferenced map image. using The digitation was performed using QGis Open Source Geographic Information System.

Questions before production use

Practical answers on evaluation, licensing, freshness, versioning and support.

api.store is built and operated by Apitalks s.r.o. Company details and a direct contact path are linked in the footer for vendor checks and procurement review.
Yes. Selected APIs include a free API quota, so your team can validate coverage, freshness, response shape and workflow fit before asking for a production plan.
Often yes, but usage rights depend on the source license and dataset. We surface source, license and update metadata where available, and can help review terms before a production integration.
Maintained APIs include update metadata where available. For production integrations, we can add history, monitoring and push updates so changes are easier to detect and act on.
Production APIs can add SLA, stable identifiers, versioning support, history, push updates and direct support around the data your product or AI workflow depends on.
