Dataset description

Tulkintaan käytetään C2RCC-mallia (Case-2 Regional CoastColour), (Brockmann et al. 2016). Malli on avoimesti saatavilla SNAP-ohjelmiston kautta. Aineisto kuuluu SYKEn avoimiin aineistoihin (CC BY 4.0). *** **[EN]** Satellite observations are used to monitor the Secchi depth from cloudless regions during ice-free periods from Finnish sea areas and lakes. Secchi depth describes the transparency of the water. The Secchi depth interpreted from the satellite observations is as material in the method development phase and the material consists of sample interpretations. The interpretation is based on the MSI (Multi-spectral Instrument) of the Sentinel-2 series of the EU Copernicus program (also OLI instrument of the NASA Landsat8 satellite, see separate metadata) starting from year 2016. The interpretation is made with an accuracy of 60 meters. Secchi depth is estimated from the satellite instrument observations using a neural network model C2RCC (Case-2 Regional CoastColour), (Brockmann et al. 2016). The final result of the model has been adapted to correspond to the optical properties of Finland's coastal and lake areas by Syke. The adaptation is based on field campaigns and station sampling (as exemplified e.g. in Attila et al., 2013). *** ## Viitteet / References Attila, J., Koponen, S., Kallio, K., Lindfors, A., Kaitala, S., & Ylöstalo, P. Vuodesta 2016 eteenpäin koostuva esimerkkiaineisto Suomen merialueilta ja järviltä.  Prosessointihistoria: Näkösyvyys on tulkittu Sentinel-2 MSI-satelliitti-instrumentin aineistoilta. Alkuperäinen satelliittidata on ladattu Euroopan avaruusjärjestön (ESA) latauspalveluista. Sykessä niistä on laskettu näkösyvyysaineisto käyttäen C2RCC-mallia (Case-2 Regional CoastColour). *** **[EN]** Satellite observations are used to monitor secchi depth. Example data from years 2016- for the Finnish sea areas and lakes. Processing history: The Sentinel-2 MSI data have been received from ESA service. The dataset has been processed to secchi depth values in Syke using the C2RCC algorithm (Case-2 Regional CoastColour), which includes atmospheric correction.

Questions before production use

Practical answers on evaluation, licensing, freshness, versioning and support.

api.store is built and operated by Apitalks s.r.o. Company details and a direct contact path are linked in the footer for vendor checks and procurement review.
Yes. Selected APIs include a free API quota, so your team can validate coverage, freshness, response shape and workflow fit before asking for a production plan.
Often yes, but usage rights depend on the source license and dataset. We surface source, license and update metadata where available, and can help review terms before a production integration.
Maintained APIs include update metadata where available. For production integrations, we can add history, monitoring and push updates so changes are easier to detect and act on.
Production APIs can add SLA, stable identifiers, versioning support, history, push updates and direct support around the data your product or AI workflow depends on.
