MOT’s business support data 2010-2016

##How has the material been compiled? MOT’s definition of business subsidies comes from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment’s own Corporate Support Survey (7/2012). The material combines direct business subsidies from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, Tekes, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Finnish Transport Agency, the Energy Market Authority and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, which are public under the law. ##What does the Finnish Broadcasting Company’s MOT business support material contain? The data contains information on the payments of various business subsidies over several years. The data contain data on the allocation of direct subsidies to enterprises worth EUR 6.3 billion. We published the data for the first time in autumn 2012, since then the data has been updated annually. The sums represent money that has actually been transferred to corporate accounts. Please note that the time series also includes the R & D subsidies paid by TEKES to research organisations and higher education institutions. They differ from other subsidies in that they are not paid directly to the recipient company’s account, but are paid, for example, to a university that uses them for joint projects between companies and research institutes.
